Yet across the world, indigenous communities have had to leave their livelihoods and ancestral lands due to a loss of land because of large-scale development projects, or become climate refugees due to climate change-related disasters[1]. For example in Alaska, the US state with the largest indigneous population, rising sea levels and increasing wildfires has forced the relocation of some of these communities[2].
